Biography

Todd and the Fox is dusty, dance-oriented music, written exclusively on five-string banjo, and featuring the drumming of talented multi-instrumentalist Erik Sawyer. In the tradition of rustic American folk and blues, Todd and the Fox takes a minimalist approach to performance: banjo, drums, bass foot pedals and voice. Audiences have described the music as “electro-roots”, a hybrid between modern acts like The Black Keys and The White Stripes and the enigmatic backwoods sounds of The Carter Family and Robert Johnson. But despite comparisons, Todd and the Fox is a sound that must be heard to be understood.
