I have been a practicing artist for over 30 years. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture and Ceramics from Ohio University and studied for a Masters of Fine Arts degree at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. Since then my work has been exhibited nationally, from New York City to Berkeley and Oakland, California. I have received numerous grants and commissions including major public art projects in Sacramento, CA – Regional Transit District Light Rail System; Fort Worth, TX – Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation System; Cultural Arts Council of Houston and Harris County, Houston, TX; ArtPark in Lewiston, NY, and most recently a large photographic project at the Santa Fe Convention Center, for the City of Santa Fe Art in Public Places, Santa Fe, NM. With expertise in photography, three dimensional work, and site-specific installations, many private collectors and public entities have purchased or commissioned my work.
I have worked full-time as Curator and Collections Manager with a western art museum and as Director and curator of a photography archive. I was Exhibitions Chair for a contemporary art center and have juried and curated shows for arts organizations and galleries.
I continue to work on public art projects as well as produce and exhibit my photo-based work. I use a number of different photographic processes to produce my images, and I see myself not as a photographer, but an artist with a camera. I process the images with the technique that will best portray the concept I am trying to address.
