The Flavor of Music, Melody, Harmony and Color
An artist whose style makes her unique…
This Renaissance woman was educated at Howard University School of Fine Arts and the Corcoran School of Art in her hometown of Washington, DC. After leaving Washington she moved to New York and pursued a career as a fashion model ultimately winding up in Florence Italy. Living in Florence she was influenced by the color and passion of the Italian masters.
She has traveled extensively throughout Europe and is an avid fan of impressionist and fauvist painters such as Romeare Bearden and Andre Derain.
…color is my passion, I want to see and be influenced by everything from cave paintings to Picasso…I love the American classical music of Jazz and I paint the musicians in tribute to my deep love of this uniquely American musical invention.
Spending the last year living as an artist and writer in residence at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu she brought her love of color and style to distinctively feminine landscapes reflecting the shapes and colors of Ghost Ranch. Walking and living in the footsteps of Georgia O’Keeffe and the multitude of artists who come to photograph and paint the amazing colors of the Valley of the Piedre Lumbre has given her a new sense of style.
