Julio Perales had always dreamed of opening his own restaurant. The 31-year-old has waited tables most of his adult life, and for the past decade he has also taken small parts as a movie extra in films such as Lockdown, Wild Wild West and The Longest Yard.

Plaza's annual summer concert series kicks off with traditional Spanish tunes
Music floated around the Santa Fe Plaza, and children, teens and adults had their dancing shoes on. The seventh annual Santa Fe Bandstand kicked off Monday afternoon, the first of 89 free performances scheduled through Aug. 20.
