Artist Bio:
LouAnn Nichols with Luna Designs was born in Santa Fe, NM where she developed a love of turquoise and beaded jewelry. She left Santa Fe when she was 12 years old and would return periodically to visit family and the bead store that she used to go to as a young girl. In 1999 she moved to Orange County California and was traveling back and forth with her sales job. She was reading a magazine and saw a chunky turquoise, sterling silver and crystal necklace and fell in love. She showed the photo to her then 21 year old son. Her son took her to a jewelry supplier and purchased everything she needed to reproduce that $1700.00 necklace. Since then she has made numerous, one of a kind pieces using all types of natural and semi-precious stones. Louanne has recently returned to Santa Fe and is extremely happy to be back home. What started out as a personal hobby has turned into a passion that she continues to love.
