Volunteers Needed for Rail Runner Mock Emergency Drill

The New Mexico Rail Runner Express is looking for 35 volunteers to be mock emergency victims/train passengers aboard Rail Runner train equipment for a full-scale exercise. The mock emergency event will take place on Sunday, June 9, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bernalillo. It will be a joint event between local, state, and federal agencies, including Sandoval County Emergency Management, Rail Runner, 64th CST National Guard, Rio Rancho Fire Department and many others. This important drill is designed to test communications and reactions for the various agencies in the event of terrorist activity.

Volunteer criteria:

  1. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent
  2. Must participate for the entire duration of the event
  3. Exercise participants will convene at the Sandoval/US 550 Station


Volunteers will be given:

  1. Lunch
  2. Two Free all-zone Rail Runner day passes per Participant
  3. Rail Runner gift bag
