New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced today the feature production Dry Lake, starring New Mexico native Jeremiah Bitsui (Natural Born Killers, Brothers).
Production will begin late July and continue through early August in Santa Fe, Espanola and Gallup. The production will employ approximately 20 New Mexico crew members and 20 principals and background talent.
The film will be directed by Gallup native Sydney Freeland (Hoverboard, The Migration) and produced by Santa Fe resident Chad Burris (Splinter, The Killer Inside Me) and Espanola native Mateo Frasier (Delia, Torcida). Dry Lake is the story of three Native American teenagers, an adopted Christian girl, a rebellious father-to-be, and a promiscuous friend who strive to escape the hardships of life on an Indian reservation.
