"The clinic will also double as a registration day for the youth non-contact rugby season that begins in April"
Santa Fe Youth Rugby is hosting a free, non-contact youth rugby clinic in preparation for the Spring 2013 Youth Rugby Season, from noon to 2 p.m. on Dec. 8 at De Vargas Middle School field.
The two-hour clinic will introduce all of the basics of youth rugby to both parents and youth alike. "Rugby is sport for anyone, no prior skills required," said Santa Fe Youth Rugby coordinator Joe Lewis. "Licensed coaches from USA Rugby as well as local players will be there to teach, play and have fun."
Free refreshments and water will be on hand.
The clinic will also double as a registration day for the youth non-contact rugby season that begins in April. The league offers once-a-week practices and games on Saturday mornings throughout the spring. Youth ages 6-13 can register now.
