Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) will host its third commUNITY Focus day on Friday, Aug. 24.
The event, which occurs semi-annually, connects students with local nonprofit organizations and promotes a day of community service.
“The goal of the university’s commUNITY Focus day is to encourage students to develop roots in the community by involving them in positive events that really nurture them as lifelong volunteers,” said Rachel Gantt, SFUAD director of campus life. “We want the city of Santa Fe to know that we’re here to serve.”
Students will visit a variety of locations throughout the day, including the City of Santa Fe Parks Division, Kitchen Angels, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, and Fine Arts for Children and Teens (FACT) Santa Fe.
More than 300 SFUAD students participated in last year’s event.
