Santa Fe Pride June 2012 Events

Santa Fe celebrates Pride 2012 with a host of parties, dances, soirees, fundraisers and special events. Here is a list of major Pride events taking place in the coming days. Monday, June 18:

• The rock musical “Rent,” directed by Nikki Alcaraz. 7p Warehouse 21 Black Box Theater, 1614 Paseo de Peralta. The Broadway hit about a group of bohemians living in New York City amid AIDS , poverty, homelessness and drugs. Produced by Darling Starr Productions and Warehouse 21. $15 adults, $10 under age 21.

Tuesday, June 19:

• Rockin’ Rollers Skating Party - 7:30 to 9:30p at the Rockin’ Rollers Skating Rink, 2915 Agua Fria.
• Ultra-Fabulous Karaoke Contest III - 8:30p at the Rouge Cat

Thursday, June 21:

• “Divas” - 5:30 p.m. at La Casa Sena Cantina, 125 E. Palace. The $5 cover benefits the Human Rights Alliance.

Friday, June 22: 

• “Men’s Night Out” - 6 to 8p at Luminaria Restaurant at the The Inn & Spa at Loretto, 211 Old Santa Fe Trail; $5 suggested donation.

Friday, June 22:

• “Frisky Friday Ladies Dance” - 8:30p to 1a at the Santa Fe Convention Center Courtyard, 201 W. Marcy St; $10. Ladies only,  8:30p to 11:30p, all inclusive from 11:30p to 1a

Saturday, June 23:

• Santa Fe Pride Parade and Festival - 11a to 6p The parade starts at the the Roundhouse at 11a and travels along Paseo de Peralta to culminate at the Railyard Park. Events include opening ceremonies, musical and stage performances, a Miss Santa Fe Pride contest, dancing and more. Free and open to the public.

Sunday, June 24:

• Santa Fe Pride Swim and Spin Party, noon to 6p The Lodge, 750 N. St. Francis Dr, $5 suggested donation. Enjoy fun in the sun with dance music and cash bar.

Sunday, June 24:

• New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus - 4p at the Greer Garson Theater, 1600 St. Michael’s Drive. Tickets. (http://www.nmgmc.org/tickets.htm)
