Recreation Facilities Closed for Staff Training, Labor Day and Maintenance

Santa Fe’s three recreation facilities will be closed various days for staff training, routine maintenance and over Labor Day.

Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC)—3221 Rodeo Road

The Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) is closing for annual maintenance. The Ice Arena and all swimming pools will be closed on Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28, 2011. The Gymnasium, Fitness Section and classrooms will remain open to the public both days. The entire facility will close on Monday August 29, and reopen on Tuesday September 6.  The closure will allow Recreation Division Staff to complete essential annual maintenance.

During the closure GCCC memberships will be honored at the Fort Marcy Complex and Salvador Perez Pool. The GCCC Reception Counter will be available for registration throughout the closure.   

Fort Marcy Recreation Complex—490 Washington

Fort Marcy Recreation Division staff will attend a training on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The facility will be reopened at 1 p.m.; it will be closed Labor Day September 5, 2011; and it will be closed on Thursday and Friday, September 8th and 9th for annual repair, maintenance and cleaning of the equipment and building.

Salvador Perez Pool and Recreation Facility—601 Alta Vista

The Salvador Perez Pool and Recreation facility will be closed on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. for general staff training; it will be closed all day Sunday September 4 for the Old Santa Fe Trail Run; and Labor Day.
