Eleni Sikelianos and Sherwin Bitsui

Raised in California, Eleni Sikélianòs, the great-grandaughter of the Nobel-nominated Greek poet Angelos Sikélianòs, is the author of a hybrid memoir and seven books of poetry. Her most recent work is The Loving Detail of the Living and the Dead. She has received a Fullbright Fellowship, two Gertrude Stein Awards for Innovative American Writing, and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and The National Poetry Series. Her work has been translated into several languages.
Sherwin Bitsui, a Diné from the Navajo Reservation in White Cone, Arizona, received an AFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts Creative Writing Program, and has published two poetry collections: Shapeshift and Flood Song. He has received a Whiting Writers’ Award, a grant from the Witter Bynner Foundation for Poetry, and a Truman Capote Creative Writing Fellowship.
