"The benefit for the Mullane family of Dixon's Apple Orchard, a fun-filled day with lots of activites for kids and grown-ups will be held on August 27..."
On the morning of June 27, 2011, Dixon's Apple Orchard, exclusive growers of the Champagne Apple and a beloved New Mexico tradition since 1944, was devastated by the Los Conchas Wildfire.
The family home, storage facility and essential equipment were destroyed. Thankfully, no one was injured and the old orchard was spared. This fire also affects the public schools, universities and hospitals that derive revenue from the orchard as a state land trust.
The benefit for the Mullane family of Dixon's Apple Orchard, a fun-filled day with lots of activites for kids and grown-ups will be held on August 27, from 12 to 6 p.m. at La Tienda in the community of Eldorado, 7 Caliente Road. There will be a raffle and silent auction, food and drink, music, clowns and so much more.
The Mullane family is the third generation of owners of the orchard, which has been a place of happy memories for thousands of families for the past 67 years.
