"The City of Santa Fe Arts Commission announced $738,250 in grants to local arts organizations for fiscal year 2012-13"
From a Santa Fe Arts Commission news release.
The City of Santa Fe Arts Commission is pleased to announce $738,250 in grants to local arts organizations for fiscal year 2012-13. Through the Arts Commission, the City will provide funding to 51 local nonprofit arts organizations via the 1% Lodgers’ Tax and the Community Arts Development Program. Funding will support arts activities in Santa Fe including performing, visual and literary arts presentations, film festivals and cultural events.
“Throughout the city, I see the vital role our local arts and cultural organizations play in supporting our quality of life and local economy,” said Mayor David Coss. “This funding will assist organizations in continuing their important work which benefits our entire community.”
The 1% Lodgers’ Tax supports arts events that play a role in promoting tourism and demonstrate high artistic quality. The Community Arts Development Program funds community-based organizations and projects of high artistic quality that provide art services to the local community with an emphasis on projects that bring the community together to celebrate the diversity of artistic heritage.
A complete list of fiscal year 2012-2013 funding is included below and available for download on the Arts Commission’s website: www.SantaFeArtsCommission.org.
Since 1987, the Arts Commission has provided funding to local nonprofit arts organizations. Over this time, it has provided more than $19 million in funding. To be eligible to apply for funding applicants must be Santa Fe-based arts organizations presenting programming in the northern portion of Santa Fe County.
