LISTEN IN to "NM Film Works" this week as host Trish Lopez speaks with Ranny Levy from Kids First, the coalition for quality children's media, a national non-profit based here in Santa Fe New Mexico.  Trish's next guest during this show is Carlos Peinado from the IAIA (Institute of American Indian Arts).  The shows finishes with Zia Pueblo film liason Peter Pino as Trish and Peter discuss the film industry in his area.

Script to Screen: Directors' Filmmaking Workshop by New Visions winner, Peter M. Kershaw.
A look at the journey from script to screen through the eyes of the main artistic creatives behind the production of short films - the screenwriter, independent producer and the director. We'll give an overview of these roles and how they relate to each other when preparing to produce a short film. The presentation talk will work with an open format to allow for questions and answers from those attending, and will draw upon the films shown at the public screenings. This space may fill quickly with students so if you are interested in attending the workshop, please inquire with the contact person listed below:

GRANTS: May 16-27th | Two-Week Workshop presented by New Visions winner, MARY HOLYOKE:
In May 2011, award winning production company Trifecta+ Entertainment, will provide a free, two-week intensive filmmaking program at New Mexico State University in Grants. The program will be available to any state resident but will specifically target senior citizens and high school students, with the goal of partnering young people with elders in creative work. The aim is to provide an intergenerational bridge between the two, where both can benefit from each others' respective, unique abilities in technology, wisdom, and life experience.

The first week of the program (May 16- 20) will include five, three-hour workshops in the following:
Screenwriting (Scott Milder)
Cinematography (Corey Weintraub)
Production Design and Set Decoration (Mary Holyoke)
Editing (Scott Milder)
Acting (Courtney Cunningham)

Students will get hands-on experience by writing, producing, performing in, and editing a short film, through mentoring from the Trifecta+ Entertainment team.
